The Numbers Are In…
So we’ve chopped the course down to the promised 75 miles! We will have a Google Earth Map Posted up tomorrow night. Here are the details as they stand now (please note, these may change just a tad here and there as we re-ride the course with a much more sensitive GPS unit).
Total Miles As of now are right on 75 Miles, 90% of which is true 1-Track, and there is 14,080′ of climbing.
Leg 1 of the Duo class will ride 34.3 miles and climb 6,695′. Leg 2 of the Duo class will ride 40.66 miles and climb 7,385′. Leg 1, for a couple of reasons, miles being the obvious, will be the easier section. For the most part, this leg is on pretty easy riding trail until you get to the Bald Mountain loop of Deer Valley. Leg 2 is more technically demanding over the duration of the miles.
One more time, this is not concrete and these numbers will definitely fluctuate a little as we polish the course. The time is now, sign up and “do what your afraid to.”

All “possible” trail has been GPS mapped!
First of all, thanks to everyone for being patient – we wish you would register, but understand a lot of you want to see the course first.
Here is the lowdown. We’ve mapped the entirety of available trail without any trail crossings or use of the same trail twice. We have approximately 90 miles of total trail, don’t get alarmed yet…. and are going to be narrowing that down to between 75 – 80 miles as we’ve discussed all along. The vert seems to be about what we’ve thought, which is going to fall around 12,000′. Take a look at our google map page (link from the bottom of the course page on our site) and you’ll be able to see the course as it stands now. Our mapping guru is going to be banging on the files the next few days, so keep on eye on it.
Couple of things worth mentioning. We will be eliminating the Devo Downhill and Tour de Homes portion of the course from the Snow Park are a Deer Valley (this is good)! Additionally, we will not climb the maintenance road of Deer Valley to get to the top of Bald Mountain. I’m not going to say the climb is easier, because it is not, it is just must more pleasant to climb single track than a service road.
I will have a ton on the trail quality of the race in my next BLOG post, but I will say this, to have a race (point to point non-the-less) in which well over 90% of the course is on single track and you never lap/loop or use the same trail twice is pretty damn amazing. This is going to be a killer event!

Take a “racecation” in Park City, UT This Labor Day!
Staycation: staying in your own backyard (basically not taking vacation). Mancation: taking a trip with a bunch of dudes. Try this on for size, Racecation! If it hasn’t been coined yet it should have been. I mean think about it, BC Bike Race, they feed you and move a tent around for you all week – all you have to do is show up and suffer.
So get ready to make a mini racecation out of the PCP2P this Labor Day weekend. Friday night will be the pre-race meeting, so get here a little early and check into your room at The Canyons Resort. Maybe get a little pre-ride in before the racer meeting. Next morning, up early and off to do the race. After the race, hang out and listen to the FREE concert in the forum at the canyons. Sunday and Monday…more riding and hanging out in beautiful Park City. If you think about it, you only are going to ride 75 miles of the nearly 400 miles of trail in the area during the race – so there’s way more to explore.
Book you room for the weekend at the Canyons, they are offering a great rate for racers and you’ll only need to stumble a few hundred feet to land in your bed after the race. $129 for a room – book it here.
