As of December 5th, 2012, the course will be very similar to last year. Of course, things can always change and we will be updating the course and details as we near the 2012 event date.

]]>Questions about the event > RACER HANDBOOK
]]>That is it for tonight! More questions, that you can’t answer here on the site, email me at jay (at) thepcpp (dot) com
]]>The biggest: There will be NO PARKING at the Deer Valley Silver Lake Lodge (upper Deer Valley). We have worked with Deer Valley to have Silver Lake Express lift running and will offer each racer 2 FREE lift tickets to give to friends/family. Please notify everyone to park at the Snow Park Lodge (lower Deer Valley) and ride Silver Lake Express lift to Silver Lake. This should be a very fun experience for everyone, the lift passes over some of the course and gives many more opportunities spectate the event. THANK YOU FOR ADHERING TO THIS REQUEST. There will still be the ability for someone to support you at Silver Lake, they just will simply need to ride the lift up.
Second thing – Please be certain you are in Park City on Friday (Sept. 2) at the Canyons (in the Forum) between 2:30PM and 5:30PM so you can pickup your number and sign waivers. There will be a racer meeting at 5:45 approximately if you’d like to know more about the race.
There’s information on the Racer Handbook page…you should read through it carefully. I’ll continue to add details to it if necessary. Questions are always welcome, on Facebook or via email: jay (at) thepcpp (dot) com
Lastly, There are a limited number of 2011 Custom PCP2P Jerseys and Pint glasses available, if you really want one > visit our page on athlete360.com and buy one now that you can pickup on Friday the 2nd. Whatever is left will be at the registration table, cash or check only.
See you Labor Day Weekend here in Park City.

The first thing you need to know is that I’d never had a professional bike fit done, nor any type of performance testing. I’ve always personally tinkered with my fit on the bike based off of feel and what I’ve learned talking to others and researching. As for fitness testing, I felt is was unnecessary, after years of off and on training and working with different coaches and philosophies my stance was I know how to get myself fit enough to race.
Here is what I feel after doing through SMSG’s bike fit, Lactate Threshold and VO2 Max testing.
After doing the bike fit with Dr. Testa I realized that my shoot-from-the-hip approach had a lot of holes in it. Certainly after all these year of riding I was in the window of a decent fit, but there were definitely tweaks that have made a difference in my comfort on my current bike.
Dr. Testa and the team did a great job, as you’ll notice in the video, breaking down each area. We spent a lot of time on my ankle angling (which I was getting a lot of). This was certainly an area I’d not focused on much and it has made a noticeable difference in efficiency on the bike.
I believe the one thing I walked away with from the testing I did, was a better understanding of training zones. It’s pretty easy to go out and know that you are doing an LSD (long steady distance) to work base, or working an interval day. But, it it nice to know when you are really in the zone to achieve maximum results. More importantly, for those of you wanting to take your training to the next level, to have the test results allows for creating a plan that will generate better profits.
No matter you level, mid-week racer or P2P racer, the Health & Fitness Institute at LDS Hospital is here to help you reach your goal. The Health & Fitness Institute at LDS Hospital is the new home of the Sports Performance Clinic. We provide physiological and biomechanical assessments to maximize training and improve performance. Assessments include:
• Lactate threshold testing • VO2 max testing • Body composition testing • Biomechanical assessment

A TON OF INQUIRIES ABOUT A WAITING LIST > THERE IS NOTONE. The race is sold out, if you want, keep you eyes open around our Facebook and Twitter presence, and you can always watch/post on the forums (MTBR.com is a good one). Wish we could accommodate everyone, we simply can’t. Good luck in your quest to race the PCP2P.
NOTE: There are no refunds and no transfers to the following year (rain checks) if you are the holder of a P2P race spot. However, you can sell your entry and that process happens through our registration partner at athlete360.com > Last year most racers wanting to sell an entry had a pretty easy time finding someone to take it (buy it!). If you are cool, you’d sell it at face value plus the transfer fees.
Please follow us on Twitter (@pcpoint2point) or the Facebook Fan Page (Park City Point 2 Point) > we will keep you updated.
]]>It is that time of the year again, racers are starting to think about the events they will be participating in and promoters are feverishly starting to prepare for planning these races. The Point 2 Point is going to have some significant changes for 2011, and details will start unfolding here on the site in the next week or so.
A couple things that are important to let you all in on now:
Looking forward to a stellar weekend of racing in 2011. Drop your questions in below, or feel free to post them on Facebook or Twitter for all to see.
]]>Here are a few important dates you should know. There will be details unfolding in the next few months on next years events, some course tweaks are certain and a few other changes potentially.
2011 Date > Saturday, September 3rd, 2011
Registration goes live on February 15th, 2011 at 7:00PM
]]>It all started with the overwhelming interest back in February when we launched registration and it promptly sold out. Since then we’ve had an unbelievable amount of interest from Solo racers all over the country. I think the event is officially “on the map.”
The event this weekend was a ton of fun…Shannon and I are still recovering, and I’m sure you are too. A huge highlight for me is the overwhelming support the race has recieved from the community. There were a ton of folks at the finish line that had no connection to any one racer in particular, they were just there to enjoy the afternoon and welcome racers back to reality. That’s very cool, and many of you racers have commented on that one element of the event alone. Another hightlight > > > Volunteers! Volunteers! Really, I can’t say enough about them and I hope they all know how much we appreciate their efforts. So many of the racers have given heart-felt thanks, we love our vounteers.
The race! ”Is it going to be harder this year?” was the overwhelming pre-race question being asked. My blanket answer was, “it will be the same.” I stand by that statement…had it not been for the heat and dry wind that was served up on Saturday. I do not recall one racer stating we needed additional water stations last year (we had 150 racers in 09), this year I don’t recall one of you NOT saying we need more water (with the exception of those that used Camelbaks > WHICH I WILL HIGHLY RECOMMEND IN SUBSEQUENT YEARS). This years race was undeniably hard! Congratulations to all of you, whether you conquered it or not in 2010. Is it to early still to say…”there is always next year.”
