February 13, 2019 by admin

THE SCOTT #PCP2P2019 REGISTRATION OPENING
7PM MST
FEB. 13TH, 2019
RACE DATE: AUG. 31ST, 2019

It is once again time for the Scott Sports Park City Point 2 Point registration to open.  Last year it took a couple hour for all the slots to fill, so if you’d like to guarantee your slot at the 2019 starting line, you should plan on registering once it opens at 7PM MST.

The Entry is $200 plus fees for entry platform of $11 ($211 total), and there are 375 spots available for 2019. Please register at this site.

Here a few helpful tips to make registration a little easier:
1) Verify that the “Billing Address” you enter matches the billing address on your credit card statement.
2) Beware of auto-fill: Browsers will often auto-populate fields with data from a different user such as a spouse, child, etc.
3) Create your Athlete360 user account, and log in before 7 pm MST.

P2P Pro Tip for 2019:  We’re happy to announce, Van Trese Training, as our official strength and conditioning partner of the event.  Van Trese Training (Ben) is located here in Park City, but as most trainers, they provide remote programming as well. It’s probably not surprising, but 2/3’s of the P2P field is over the age of 35, and are creeping into the category we call “ageless athletes” – notice, it’s not “aging” athlete.  I personally fall into this category, and I’ve been working with Ben on my OTB (off-the-bike) programming since the fall.  The focus has been a less-is-more approach and applying Functional Range Conditioning (FRC). I’ve been stoked with the results, I love my new found mobility and strength, and mostly the fact that I don’t feel like my body is in recovery mode all the time. If you don’t have an OTB program in place, you’re compromising your enjoyment while on the bike!  Reach out to Ben here and have a chat, you’ll be happy you did.

Is the course going to be the same as last year as outlined in Trailforks?

Lots of good memories in PC, specially because the p2p through the years there. From the hot ones, to the stormy year where the start had to be delayed… everyone I did was memorable. Miss you PC!

I am not trying to get any PRs or make podium or anything, just trying to finish. It seems like there are a million ways to train for this. Do you have any training sites or protocols you think are good for intermediate (just trying to finish) riders?
