Welcome P2P People! We are happy to announce the 2020 Park City Point 2 Point Virtual Challenge. Please notice I didn’t say race. This activity is being organized as an outlet for some late summer fun on your bike.
Ride it when you can, by yourself, or with a small group. When you do ride, have fun, and understand other people will be out enjoying the trails too. With that said, no shouting, “clear the trail…I’m racing the Point 2 Point.” We are not “racing,” please be kind.
Two options for Participation. Option one, ride the entire course in one outing. Option two split the ride into 3 parts. Option one will need to be ridden any time by Sept. 5th. Option two also needs to be ridden by September 5th, however, you only have 8 days after you ride the first leg to complete the other 2 segments (which should give you 4 weekend days to complete the ride).
We also have a challenge for out-of-state riders, or those of you not able/willing to travel to Park City. Find a course in your area that is 75 miles (or more), climbs over 10,000′, and is over 50% dirt (preferably singletrack). It can be a contiguous course, or it can be a loop you ride multiple times (but as we’ve said, life is too short for riding in circles – so try to find an enjoyable long route).
Throughout the challenge, we are going to share adventures and updates on a Facebook Group Page (click here to join/view). The idea is to create a fun rider community so we (and you) can share stories from the trail, leader boards (not that we care too much about who is fastest), and a bunch of general training and fitness tips from one of our partners, Off the Mountain Training (Van Treese).
The Details!
Participation is simple, go ride the course of your choice (links below). Submit your ride via any activity recording platform you use, Strava, Garmin, etc. To be added to the official leader boards, you must present “actual ride time” – not “moving time” only. You can provide “moving time” only, but unfortunalty we can’t include you on leader boards if you do – you’ll still get noticed for completion (and be in the opportunity drawing). If you ride the three-part challenge, you will need to provide all three segments so we can post your total time. Out-of-state challenge riders will have a recognition list as well, so please submit a link to your ride.
